How hard is business these days???

No one ever really told you how hard being a Business Owner was going to be did they?

You thought you’d get to do what you wanted every day.

You thought it would be fun calling all the shots.

You thought you’d earn lots of money.

You thought running your own Business would give you lots of flexibility.

Being in charge of your own destiny, sounded so appealing…

Instead the reality is:

You’re constantly dealing with problems.

You’re not doing the kind of work you want to.

You’re working longer hours.

And what happened to all that money and flexibility you were supposed to have?

As a Business Coach I don’t know how many times I’ve heard Business Owners say:

  • I’ve had enough!
  • It’s too hard!
  • I just want to give it all away!

Have you ever felt like this?

It happens to us all (me too).

You’ll almost certainly see it as a bad thing when you’re in the thick of it, but I like to think of it as a “Defining moment” for you and your Business.

It could actually be the best thing that ever happens to your Business.

It forces you to ask yourself some tough questions, like

  1. Is this really what I want to do still?
  2. What else would I be doing?
  3. Why did I start the Business in the first place?

In coaching we know people change most from a point of pain. Sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before we realise what we really need to do.

If you decide to continue with your Business then you need to critically analyse the following:

  • What’s not working currently?
  • How would you like it to be?
  • What are the big things that need to change NOW?

Once you’ve listed these things it’s time to develop an action plan and get to work in creating the Business you really want to have (and deserve).

I’ll be cheering you on all the way.
